Founder of Story Storks, Sarah Cantrill, is Storyteller in Residence at All Saints’ church and hosts coronation workshops for KS2 children studying the Saxons.
Storytelling workshops and Theatre that make Literacy, Heritage and Science an Adventure!
These workshops include:
- The story of how King Athelstan rose to fame, and how his family worked for three generations to get him there
- A whole-class re-enactment of the coronation by the students
- A Saxon Coin handling workshop
The workshops are fun, energetic and tailored to the curriculum. We know that kids LOVE walking through the doors of All Saints Kingston, in the heart of Kingston town centre and learning about our rich Saxon heritage.
Knowing that we are the site where Athelstan was actually crowned 1100 years ago gives the children a real sense of local heritage and our fantastic life sized contemporary embroideries are a sight to behold for grown ups and children alike.
