Children at All Saints Kingston
We love children and want them to feel like full and welcome members of our church.
We have several groups tailored to different age ranges and our building is also used by external children’s groups and events. Please view our calendar for up to date details.
Our building is rather large(!) and we welcome families to come and explore! Ask our friendly welcomers to show you something you haven’t seen before or grab a free children’s trail by the welcomers desk.
We also have a toddler area in the cafe area, with plenty of age appropriate toys and a place for parents and carers to rest while watching the children play. The cafe is available for snacks and beverages.
Sundays
We love to see children at all our services. We have a ‘Children’s Church’ group (like Sunday School) at our main 9.30am Sunday service once a month. This involves crafts, activities and exciting storytelling. Please see the booklet for details and dates.
Additionally, Our monthly All Age Service is specially crafted to appeal to our younger members, on these days music, readings and the talks are adapted with the whole congregation worshipping together throughout. We also welcome our junior choir to perform.
Ours is a big building and there is lots of room for young people and their parents to stretch their legs and wander about if they need to and yet still remain part of the service if they want to.
All our work with children is undertaken in accordance with the Child Protection guidelines as set down by the Diocese of Southwark and the Church of England.

We are also delighted to hear from anybody who is interested in learning to ring. Come up and see us at our Wednesday practice night and find out what goes on!

Our Junior Choir
All Saints has a wonderful musical tradition and younger children in years 2-5 are welcome to join our FREE Junior choir
There is no audition and the children learn a mix of secular and church music led by our talented and experienced musical staff and DBS checked volunteers. Sessions are mostly in the choir vestry of the beautiful All Saint’s Kingston with children learning pieces to perform for termly concerts and occasional services.
Each session will be great fun and an excellent opportunity to meet other children, form new friendships and enjoy singing together, plus children showing confidence and talent are offered an audition to join the church choir and become paid professionals!. Rehearsals on Friday afternoons during term time at All Saints Church, juice and biscuits at 4pm, rehearsal starts at 4.15pm and ends at 5pm.
Please see full details by selecting the choir box on our main welcome page.
Trebles in our Main Choir
Our main choir is a mix of musically talented adults and children. Children sing the treble line and start as probationers who receive small group training including how to read music until they graduate to a full member of the choir and receive their surplice. The choir meets on most Wednesday’s for evensong 5-6pm, on Friday for rehearsal 6.15-8.15pm (with probationers meeting slightly earlier for small group training) and on Sunday for Morning Service 9-10.45am, practice 11.15am-12pm and then evensong 5.30-7pm. There are also some additional concerts over the course of the year.
We do appreciate that this is quite a commitment for our younger singers but we believe the musical education more than makes up for it, with a number of our trebles going on to musical scholarships.
