SUMMARY:Faith Talk - Tackling Modern Slavery
DESCRIPTION:Modern Slavery Faith Talk\nAll Saints Kingston is hosting this important talk on Modern Slavery on Wednesday 20th May at 6.30pm. Doors and bar open from 6.15pm.\nThe event is part of our “Faith Talk” series which has built up a following\, attracting expert speakers and knowledgeable panellists to debate the Christian response in the “public square” on the big issues of today. Our talks have been quoted as “Faith Based\, not Faith Biased” and are public town hall style events with questions invited (and encouraged!) from audience members. As always\, the talk will be recorded and available to watch on our YouTube channel after the event.\nOur main speaker is Jiska Stieler\, women’s Hub Co-ordinator at Voices of Hope\, a Kingston based charity supporting women and children\, especially those facing gender-based violence\, poverty\, and systemic disadvantage\, to rebuild their health\, confidence\, and long-term independence. The talks are ticketed so we can keep a tally of numbers but totally free of charge.\nPlease book your free tickets here https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/all-saints-church-kingston/faith-talks-modern-slavery/2026-05-20/18:30/t-qmjrjmq

SUMMARY:Band Night - Run for Cover
DESCRIPTION:All Saints Church Kingston presents: Run For Cover.\nTickets are available for this amazing Fundraising Event for just £25 in advance via www.ticketsource.co.uk\, search for All Saints Church Kingston. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/all-saints-church-kingston/band-night-run-for-cover/2026-05-09/18:30/t-dkvvlpo\nKingston’s favourite cover band www.runforcoverlive.com will be playing live floor fillers spanning disco\, Britpop\, rock and dance.\nKingston’s favourite cover band www.runforcoverlive.com have been operating in the area for nearly 20 years playing live floor-fillers spanning disco\, Britpop\, rock and dance. Doors open at 6pm for DJ Sophie who will be playing a mix of funky electronic beats\, the band starts at 6.30pm.\nAll Saints has established itself as a premier pop music venue\, thanks in part to Kingston’s renowned Banquet Records. With performances from artists like Hozier and Killer Mike\, it is a dynamic hub for live music\, keeping the local scene thriving.\nPaul Thomas from Run For Cover said- “We always try to support community causes when we can and to be asked to play this magnificent 700 capacity venue is a great honour. It’s a bit daunting but we can’t wait to see how tunes from the likes of Oasis\, Blur\, The Killers\, Elbow and Black Eyed Peas sound in its wonderful nave. We met in Kingston and feel proud to be able to represent our home town.”\nThe Kingston connections don’t stop there with band members and their partners being alumni from Kingston University- an institution Run For Cover marked by playing the last ever gig at Penrhyn Road bar- and running their businesses from Kingston locations.\nIn recent years the band have discovered that their 90s repertoire in particular is as popular with their teenage and student offspring as it is with their hardcore fanbase of friends\, followers and local parents.\nPictures and Film of the event including ticketholders may be used for future promotional purposes\, by entering this event\, you agree for your image to be used in this way without recompence.

SUMMARY:Teddington Choral Society Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:Teddington Choral Society’s latest concert is titled Dvořák’s Stabat Mater\nDvořák started working on this composition in 1876 and completed it the following year after the deaths of his two surviving children in close proximity to one another. It was first performed in Prague on 23 December 1880.\nTraditionally\, Stabat Mater compositions describe the suffering of a mother facing the death of her son on the Cross. Although Dvořák’s Stabat Mater composition does present a musical setting underlying the suffering and pain from loss\, it also contains optimism and hope.\nThe concert promises to be a powerful\, thrilling and moving performance.\nThe choir will be joined by an incredibly talented team of professional soloists (see below for more information):\n* Soprano Lisa Swayne\n* Mezzo Soprano Judy Louie Brown\n* Tenor Paul Hopwood\n*Bass Mark Nathan\nAlongside to our soloists we will also be joined by English Sinfonietta.\nTickets: £20 (under 16s free): search Teddington Choral Society on www.eventbrite.co.uk.
