SUMMARY:Poetry Group
DESCRIPTION:Poetry sessions.\nThe last session of the year\, will be on Tuesday 25 November from 5.30pm to 6.15pm\, in the Heritage Gallery\, All Saints Church\, Kingston.\nWe will read a poem and reflect on any reactions and memories the words might suggest.\nThe theme will celebrate November\, a month which leads us from Remembrance to Anticipation…….\nThe next session will be on 27 January.\nOpen to anyone interested in reading and discussing the work of an established poet.\nWhat happens in our poetry sessions\nAll are welcome to these poetry sessions. We will read a poem (or poems) written by one of our best loved poets and the group will be encouraged to share any reactions and memories the words might suggest.\nEach month the theme will reflect our journey through the year. September is celebrated as Creation month in the Anglican church\, a chance to become more aware of the natural world around us. It is also the time for change as we think about the season moving from summer to autumn\, and experience the new beginnings that the start of the new school year can bring.\nFuture sessions in 2025 will be held on 21st October and 25th November.

SUMMARY:Saxon Kings Embroidery Talk
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the final intimate group talk at All Saints Kingston about our stunning life sized contemporary embroideries\, part of the Seven Saxon Kings Embroidery Project. Please book via Ticketsource.\nSeven Kings\, including the first “Kings of England” are traditionally thought to have been crowned at Kingston Upon Thames. Before All Saints Church was built\, the site was an important estate of the West Saxon Kings and host to Royal coronations. Our talk will tell this significant heritage story through the series of seven spectacular and unique embroidery panels (four of which are currently displayed) touching on the Saxon history of the area\, the reigns of the Kings and characters depicted\, and the incredible talent that has gone into the design and execution of the panels themselves.\nEmbroidery panels have a long tradition of being used as symbols of power or to tell a story to enforce a message. Such works can be found in the great houses of the nobility or wealthy merchants\, royal palaces and of course\, in churches. Join us as we delve into these amazing works of textile art.\nThe panels are being created by award winning contemporary embroiderer Jacky Puzey\, based on an original design by Sophia Pearson. Jacky’s speciality of machine embroidery is further embellished with hand embroidery and beading by Beatrice Mayfield\, contemporary hand embroiderer and visiting lecturer at the Royal School of Needlework.\nOur embroideries headlind the March/April edition of embroidery magazine. Come and see them in person!

SUMMARY:Saxon Kings Embroidery Talk (Public)
DESCRIPTION:FEATURED\nJoin us for an intimate group talk at All Saints Kingston about our stunning life sized contemporary embroideries\, part of the Seven Saxon Kings Embroidery Project. Please book via Ticketsource using this link https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/all-saints-church-kingston/saxon-kings-embroidery-talk-public/2025-09-27/09:30/t-rpvygrz\nSeven Kings\, including the first “Kings of England” are traditionally thought to have been crowned at Kingston Upon Thames. Jacky’s speciality of machine embroidery is further embellished with hand embroidery and beading by Beatrice Mayfield\, contemporary hand embroiderer and visiting lecturer at the Royal School of Needlework.\nOur embroideries headline the March/April edition of embroidery magazine. Come and see them in person!

SUMMARY:Poetry Group
DESCRIPTION:Poetry sessions.\nAll are welcome to these poetry sessions.
